Kuta River (Kyoto Prefecture, Japan)

Kuta River in Kyoto Prefecture is Tributary of Ado River which flows into Lake Biwa.

The river is about 10km in length, and suitable for wade fishing.

Kuta fisheries cooperative manages Kuta River and the part of Harihata River within Kyoto Prefecture.
Fishing rules and lisences are different each 3 areas; "General Area", "Catch-And-Release Area", and "Frequent Fish Stoking Area".

Kuta River Genreral Area requied seasonal or daily General Area lisence. Kuta River General Fishing Rules are applied.
Fish harverst and bait allowed.

CAUTION! Minami-dani River Tributary of Kuta River is closed to fishing.

NOTICE
The upstream of Harihata River from the prefecture border is managed by Kutsuki fisheries cooperative.
The downstream of Harihata River from the prefecture border is managed by Katsuragawa fisheries cooperative.
Those other areas required each lisences, Do not fish with Kuta fisheries cooperative lisence.

Kuta River Catch-And-Release Area

Kuta River Catch-And-Release Area requied seasonal or daily General Area lisence.
Kuta River General Fishing Rules and Catch-And-Release Area Special Fishing Rules are applied.
No harvest, No bait allowed, barbless hooks and a single hook required, catch-and-release.

From Katsura Bridge upstream to the Kuta check dam is Catch-And-Release Area.

CAUTION! Choze-dani River Tributary of Kuta River is closed to fishing.

Special Rules of Catch-And-Release Area and completely closed fishing area

※Viorators must stop fishing and harvest will be confiscated.

Frequent Fish Stoking Area

Frequent Fish Stoking Area required a particular daily or afternoon lisence.
Any general area lisences are invalid in this area.

Kuta River General Fishing Rules are applied.
Fish harvest and bait allowed.

Frequent Fish Stoking Area is about 800 meters in length.
Here opens all year.
